Business Operations Support Analyst

Purpose
The Business Operations Support Analyst serves as the financial and operational lead for the University's entrepreneurial business units. This position acts as a liaison between Fiscal Operations and various campus departments, including academic units, athletics, event management, and external partners, providing financial oversight, system support, and process improvement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage revenue reporting including preparation and distribution invoices for the Center for Reading Science, CITE, and external University sponsored events.
- Reconcile grant and program budgets, including preparing interim and annual reports for foundations and sponsors.
- Develop and maintain profit and loss statements for entrepreneurial and auxiliary business units.
- Collaborate with program owners and departmental leads to monitor budgets and ensure financial compliance.
- Assist with implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of CRM and financial systems as assigned.
- Research, recommend, and support the implementation of secure and user friendly eCommerce/payment solutions across University departments.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments in coordination with the business/unit or department and the Fiscal Operations team.
- Maintain documentation of processes and controls related to assigned functions, ensuring audit readiness and compliance with University policies.
- Analyze and present financial and operational data to support decision making by program directors and University leadership.
Additional Responsibilities
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative burden across business units.
- Provide training or guidance to staff and faculty on relevant financial tools and systems.
- Serve as backup support for other Fiscal Operations functions as needed.
- Participate in cross functional workgroups

Supervision Received: Works under general direction toward broadly defined objectives; refers specific problems to the Controller when clarification or interpretation of organizational policies is involved.

Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Relevant professional experience in financial operations or administrative support, typically demonstrated with two or more years in a similar role.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit financial operations
- Familiarity with grant reporting and compliance
- Knowledge of eCommerce platforms or payment systems
Specialized Skills
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be at ease in creating and sustaining interpersonal relationships; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; maintain a high level of accuracy, consistently reviewing work to detect errors, oversights, or omissions.
