Bilingual Psychiatric Nurse (Part-Time / Hybrid)
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Psychiatric Nurse to provide clinical and administrative support to a single psychiatric provider. This hybrid role requires an on-site presence during scheduled patient appointment days with the ability to perform duties such as charting, follow up, and pharmacy coordination remotely. Psychiatric Nurse works under the Mental Health Department and will attend team meetings, training and provide consultation as needed for clients.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provider Assistance (In-Person): Support the provider during clinic days by conducting intake screenings, assisting with examinations, and transcribing orders. Act as a linguistic bridge for Spanish-speaking clients.
- Comprehensive Charting (Hybrid): Maintain accurate EHR records, documenting all treatments and behavioral changes. Administrative charting and record updates may be completed remotely.
- Pharmacy & Medication Coordination (Remote/In-Person): Manage the prior authorization process, process medication adjustments as directed, and communicate with pharmacies to ensure timely refills.
- Client Follow-Up (Remote/In-Person): Monitor patient progress between visits, track lab results, and provide bilingual psychoeducation to families.
HIPAA & Remote Work Requirements:
To maintain the highest standards of patient confidentiality during remote hours, the candidate must:
- Secure Environment: Utilize a private, quiet workspace free from unauthorized individuals during clinical calls or charting.
- Data Security: Use only encrypted, employer-approved platforms for EHR access and communication.
- Confidentiality: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in Spanish and English for clinical assessments and complex medical explanations.
- Clinical Knowledge: Strong expertise in psychiatric disorders and psychotropic medications.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with EHR platforms and secure remote communication tools.
- Soft Skills: High empathy and strong interpersonal skills to build therapeutic trust with a diverse patient base.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
1. Master’s degree in counseling or social work
2. Proficient in utilization of computer-based medical records
3. Ability to work independently
4. Willingness and comfort with providing services within the home.
5. Licensed in counseling or social work. Independent licensure preferred but not required.
6. Bilingual in Spanish or another language preferred but not required.
7. Experience with interpreters preferred.
