Job Description Summary
Assistant Director for Programs and Sales is responsible for assisting and managing the Goggin Ice Center Skate/Pro Shop sales, direct supervisory of Goggin’s intramural program, Public Skating sessions, and SLM classes. Act as Manager on Duty, when assigned, and have management responsibilities of programs and building. Work scheduled includes evenings and weekends.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform duties with limited supervision while making independent decisions that reflect the overall mission of Miami University and Goggin Ice Center.
- Assists and provide direction in the development of ongoing policies, procedures, budgets, and strategic planning focused on risk management and increasing sales for Skate/Pro shop and programs and events.
- Assists and provide leadership in the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating of Intramural staff.
- Assist with in-store and on-line sales for Goggin Ice Center programs, event registration, and retails sales, including upkeep and maintenance of computer software used for sales, registration, reporting, and inventory.
- Assist and provides direction in the development of goals and KPIs for assigned programs or sales.
- Direct and manage on-site events and programs for Miami students and surrounding community members with an emphasis on participation growth, retention rate, risk management, and customer service.
- Maintain a safe and secure store and programs; ensure the safety of participants, patrons, employees, and merchandise by developing and implementing safety and security procedures.
- Act as Manager on Duty and perform duties with limited supervision while making independent decisions that reflect the overall mission of Miami University and Goggin Ice Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; or four years experience in ice related sports and activities.
- Management and recreational programming experience.
- Employment for this position is contingent upon providing a set of fingerprint impressions and satisfactorily completing a criminal records check.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of ice hockey instructing, skating instruction, coaching and officiating.
