Job Description Summary
Responsible for overseeing Regional Financial Aid operations, designing, implementing, and evaluating financial aid awareness and financial literacy programs. Coordinate strategic partnerships aimed at FAFSA completion rates. Manage programs that focus on specialized student groups. Provide targeted support, data management, and awarding processes for retention efforts. Coordinate policies and procedures according to federal, state, and university policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee Regional financial aid operations; evaluate and adjust processes to achieve compliance and goals; execute strategies to improve processes, communication, and completion of financial aid requirements.
- Supervise, direct, and develop regional Financial Aid staff.
- Administer regional scholarship review and awarding; monitor funds; review student eligibility; compile and distribute scholarship reports; coordinate scholarship awarding to achieve optimum enrollment and student success.
- Coordinate processing of aid; ensure compliance in verification and financial aid form submissions; ensure department compliance with federal and state guidelines related to student aid programs.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of financial aid awareness and financial literacy programming.
- Increase FAFSA completion rates at Miami University and more broadly in Ohio. Create partnerships with OASFAA and other Universities, and external partners.
- Responsible for working with specialized groups of students, i.e. Miami Access Fellows, Cincinnati Scholars, TEACh, College Promise, Middletown Rising, HamiltonPromise, Say Yes, Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation, College Now Cleveland, Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship, I Know I Can Founders Scholarship, Evans Scholars
- Increase and assist with retention efforts by working with students, maintaining data, and awarding microgrants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, at least 2 years of experience in financial aid, financial literacy, bursar, or other university-related areas; ORAssociate’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience in financial aid, financial literacy, bursar, or other university-related area; OR 6 years of experience in financial aid, financial literacy or bursar related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge of federal financial aid regulations; 3 years of supervisory experience; and experience with ERP and computer systems. Master's degree; at least 5 years of experience in financial aid, financial literacy, bursar, or related area.
