Miami University’s Communications and Marketing department has been charged with building and maintaining the university’s brand on a local, regional, and national stage. This dynamic and award-winning team is comprised of nearly 70 marketing and communications professionals and is looking to hire a Communication Specialist or Senior Specialist for the Enrollment Marketing and Communication team.
Miami University Communications and Marketing seeks an energetic, creative, and collaborative individual to serve as a communication specialist or senior specialist in support of Miami University’s student enrollment goals. This position plays a pivotal role as a liaison and collaborator with strategic campus partners to help plan, manage, and execute integrated and comprehensive communication plans using various media. Within the university's central marketing department, the position provides admission and enrollment expertise in support of integrated, omni-channel marketing and communication.
This position has been approved for remote work. Remote work is not a right, it is a work arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason, including the convenience of the University.

 

Duties/Physical Demands:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of communication plans using media including but not limited to email, print, web, text, video, and other digital marketing tools. Provide creativity and enthusiasm as a writer and content creator in a fast-paced environment, supporting the EMC team and the university overall in student recruitment projects and campaigns that resonate with prospective students, their parents, and other targeted audiences.
  • Serve as a liaison to strategic teams within the Office of Admission to ensure admission and enrollment communication efforts align with and support university enrollment priorities and goals.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust communication and workflows using available tools and data to optimize quality and performance of communication efforts.
  • Contribute to communication projects as a writer and editor, working with creative teams that include graphic designers, web developers, digital communication specialists, photographers and videographers.
  • Oversee distribution of communication materials.
  • Pursue continuous professional development in a role that serves as an admission subject-matter expert for the broader marketing department. Stay current with communication innovation and best practices, particularly in higher education admission and enrollment.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
Enrollment Communication Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree within a communications discipline or relevant field and at least 1 year of full-time, professional communication experience.
  • Experience in integrating technology as part of a larger marketing strategy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and handling of confidential information.


Enrollment Communication Senior Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree within a communications discipline or relevant field and at least 3 years of full-time, professional communication experience.
  • Experience in integrating technology as part of a larger marketing strategy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and handling of confidential information.

 

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with communication in higher education, preferably undergraduate admission.
  • Experience with CRM software and other relational databases.
