Job Description Summary
Directs the day to day administration and program management for Goggin Ice Center. Includes but not limited to Hockey, Ice Skating, Pro Shop, Operations, Rentals, and all special events including Intercollegiate Sporting Events. Responsible for annual budgets for all of Goggin Ice Center.

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, develop, and monitor day to day operations with focus on personnel, risk, and facility management. 
  • Develop and oversee the annual arena schedule, budget, goals, and KPI’s for arena programs and operations.
  • Develop strategic planning for Goggin Ice Center programs, operations, and revenues growth.
  • Supervise and provide direction to Associate and Assistant Directors, along with classified staff with a goal of safety, program, and sales growth.
  • Work closely with other University departments critical to the success of Goggin programs and operations.
  • Serve as Director of Summer Hockey School and coordinate marketing, staffing, and plan for all aspects of the summer hockey school. 
  • Work closely with Ice Skating staff to ensure figure skating and synchronized skating camps are run successfully and program goals are developed.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director for Programs and Sales for vision and goals for program and pro shop sales. 
  • Develop new advertising vehicles in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Administrative Services and University Marketing.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Recreational Sports Services.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Direct Supervisor 4 or more Unclassified employees
  • Train
  • Assign and direct work
  • Inspect work
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Recommend disciplinary action, hiring, and termination recommendations

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years experience in Ice Arena general operations and programming including ice skating or ice hockey, with supervising and training of staff (OR)
  • Minimum of 11 years experience in Ice Arena general operations and programming including ice skating or ice hockey, with supervising and training of staff

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree 
  • Basic knowledge of ice plant operations
