Assistant to Head Ice Hockey Coach
Job Description Summary
This position will report to the Head Ice Hockey Coach. The position will be responsible for the Administrative Operations and Video Breakdown/Analysis of the Ice Hockey program. This position will support the mission of the athletic department consistent with the policies of Miami University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and other appropriate governing bodies (i.e. Mid-American Conference, National Collegiate Hockey Conference).
Job Description
Job Duties:
- Assist staff with practice planning & pre-scout of opponents
- Manage and coordinate all video/editing and set up for practice, home and away games
- Coordinate game day video duties, including exchange policy with our opponents, live tagging, Coach Challenge etc.
- Prepare and monitor team travel budget. Book all team travel details
- Assist Head Coach with tracking of the day-to-day budget expenses.
- Coordinate all technology and software upgrades associated with the Ice Hockey program
- Coordinate the administration of all hockey team travel.
- Coordinate all home and away game meals.
- Coordinate all team related community service, including the youth hockey programming associated with varsity hockey student-athletes.
- Coordinate communication and logistics involving the Blue Line Club (Booster Organization)
- Oversee athletics promotional events that involve men’s varsity ice hockey
- Organize parents weekend and senior night (communication with parents and athletics marketing staff)
- Oversee student staff (video and stats)
- Complete all other duties assigned by the Head Hockey Coach.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Video Editing Experience
- Demonstrated experience with the sport of Ice Hockey
*Experience gained through Graduate Assistantships, Internships, and Volunteer work may count toward the required qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends, including early mornings and evenings
- Competency with Word Processing and Spreadsheet Applications
