Associate Director for Programs and Sales - Goggin Ice Center
Summary
Responsible for the administration, management, supervision, and marketing of all student, hockey, and student skating events at the Goggin Ice Center. Manage, supervise and coordinate pro shop and customer service with an emphasis sales and revenue generation. Assist the Senior Director of Goggin Ice Center with the strategic planning of annual budgetary and programming needs.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Direct hockey, student programs, and student skating events or programs for Miami students, staff, and surrounding community members with an emphasis on participation growth, retention rate, risk management, and customer service.
- Direct the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating of customer service, public skating, student, and hockey staff including benefit eligible, interns, students, volunteer, and part-time staff.
- Direct all in-store and on-line sales for Goggin Ice Center programs, event registration, and retails sales, including upkeep and maintenance of computer software used for sales, registration, reporting, and inventory.
- Direct the purchasing of the Pro Shop “merchandise mix;” work with the University Bookstore buyer to place orders via university procedures and retail compliance of contracts, partnerships, and sponsors.
- Direct the reporting and data needed to provide supporting document for KPI’s, budget analyze, sales, and participation.
- Lead and develop of ongoing policies, procedures, budgets, and strategic planning focused on risk management and increasing sales and participation.
- Supervise and schedule manager on duty for facility coverage focused on programming coverage. Act as manager on duty as needed.
- Assist the Assistant Director for Administrative services in the management of all facility bookings.
- Conducts daily safety assessments of facilities, vehicles and equipment and takes appropriate action.
- Establish working relationships with individuals, agencies, and groups that further enhance the mission of the Goggin Ice Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience, OR Associates degree and 5 years of related experience, OR 7 years of related experience.
- Must successfully pass a fingerprinted background check.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of ice hockey instructing, skating instruction, coaching and officiating.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Management and recreational programming experience.
