Graduate Clinical Placement & Contracts Coordinator
Job Description Summary
Miami University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Clinical Placement Coordinator to oversee clinical placements for students in our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with healthcare organizations, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements, and managing all clinical contracts for the nursing department. The ideal candidate is a strategic relationship-builder with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for contract compliance. This position may require minimal travel to surrounding states to establish and strengthen the student placement network.
Duties:
Clinical Placement Development & Coordination
- Identify, solicit, and secure new clinical partnerships for graduate nursing students.
- Strengthen and maintain existing relationships with healthcare organizations, preceptors, and clinical sites.
- Coordinate student placements, ensuring alignment with program goals and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to assess site suitability and student learning objectives.
Contract & Compliance Management
- Oversee contract negotiation, execution, and renewal for all clinical affiliations.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation regulations for clinical education.
- Maintain accurate records of agreements, site evaluations, and student placements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison between the nursing department and clinical partners.
- Work closely with preceptors, site coordinators, faculty, and students to support a positive clinical experience.
- Communicate clinical placement policies, expectations, and timelines to all stakeholders.
- Support with orientation of clinical faculty and preceptors
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Maintain an up-to-date clinical placement database and generate reports as needed.
- Assist with student onboarding, ensuring completion of required clearances, immunizations, and background checks.
- Contribute to continuous program improvement and accreditation documentation related to clinical education.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; (Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, or related field).
Consideration may be given to applicants with a Master’s degree; experience in clinical education coordination, healthcare administration, or academic partnerships preferred; strong ability to build and sustain relationships with external organizations; highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities; excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
