Job Description Summary
This position will play a key role in overseeing several ongoing data collection projects focused on emotional and cognitive processes, with an emphasis on EEG and experimental methods. This position supports the development, coordination, and implementation of studies, while also contributing to broader lab operations. Responsibilities include assisting with experimental design, managing data collection efforts, developing protocols, training and mentoring undergraduate research assistants, and ensuring smooth day-to-day lab functioning. This role offers hands-on experience in research coordination, technical skill development, and leadership within a collaborative and research-intensive environment.

 

Job Description
Duties:

  • Assist in designing experiments and coordinating the execution of multiple research studies.
  • Support the IRB process by drafting protocols, ensuring compliance with ethical standards, and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Develop experimental procedures and help standardize EEG protocols for data collection.
  • Train and supervise undergraduate research assistants in EEG operation, study procedures, and protocol adherence.
  • Learn and apply software tools as needed to create emotion elicitation materials.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the lab manual documenting protocols, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of undergraduate research assistants.
  • Provide individualized mentorship to support the research skill development and academic growth of lab members.
  • Support graduate students in the implementation of their research projects, including study preparation, data collection, and project coordination.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field by date of appointment; formal coursework or training in research methodology and/or neuroscience.
