Job Description Summary

Teaching responsibilities will include our primary needs - introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, developmental psychology - and could include other courses such as personality, statistics/research methods, or opportunities in an area of specialization.

 

Job Description
Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology to teach undergraduate psychology courses, provide student advising, provide service to the institution and profession, and maintain an active research program, beginning August 2025.   

Miami University’s Regional Campuses are open admissions campuses with a liberal arts curriculum. Teaching responsibilities will include our primary needs - introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, developmental psychology - and could include other courses such as personality, statistics/research methods, or opportunities in an area of specialization. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in psychology or related field (specialization open) by date of appointment for appointment as assistant professor.
  • Consideration may be given to individuals that demonstrate all or most of the following: experience and excellence in college teaching, especially in abnormal psychology and/or developmental psychology; experience with or openness to teaching online courses; experience with non-traditional students; advising experience; and strong skills in interacting and collaborating with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

 

Required Application Documents
Cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy (with evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as course evaluations or peer review), a statement of service agenda (which outlines the faculty member’s contributions to departmental, university, and professional service), a statement of scholarly agenda (which details the faculty member’s research goals and plans), and 2-3 representative reprints/preprints.
