Assistant Professor (tenure track) to teach undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice, advise students, provide service to the institution, the community and/or the profession and maintain an active research agenda. The appointment will begin on August 18, 2025. The successful candidate will join the Department of Justice and Community Studies (JCS), which is located at the Miami’s regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown. JCS currently serves over 120 majors with five full-time continuing faculty and several part-time, visiting and affiliate faculty. JCS is committed to Miami Regionals’ community service mission, to the teacher-scholar model, and to academic freedom and the truth-seeking mission of the University. The typical class size is 20 – 30 students, and JCS courses are taught both on-line and in face-to-face formats.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in criminal justice or closely related discipline by date of appointment or a J.D. and master’s degree in closely related discipline by date of appointment.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates who possess significant teaching experience in both face-to-face and online formats and/or those with research and teaching interests that complement existing departmental strengths.
